Lady in Blue

One of the good things about not being on the Camino di Santiago anymore is the possibility to do art again. So, here is today’s sketch:
I had initially envisioned it as a rough watercolor base and then detailed pen-work on top, but I had a hard time putting down the paintbrush, so… in the end, all watercolor. Of course, I didn’t plan for that, so I started the sketch on bristol paper instead of watercolor paper… and then, one layer in, the paper started peeling and this girl now has authentically chapped lips. Of well. Texture’s cool, right?
Officially back in business: hunched over a table, drinking wine, singing along to Italian ballads, and splattering paints.
