Leftover acrylic paint —> sketchbook entry.
We had a ‘house party’ last night (half quotation marks, as grown-up Italian friends gathering in houses is wildly different from the American connotation of a teen house party), which means that the small flat was, full, full, full of toddlers running around, the smell of roasted chestnuts being dipped in curry mango mustard, and the sound of me cursing at the TV every time that a winner was announced for the EMA’s (Adele, you deserve better awards). The exciting point was when one of the moms asked me to do a portrait of her one-and-a-quarter-year-old boy. Now, I don’t like kids, especially energetic little boys. BUT, this kid is the most adorable living creature, in the history of living things everywhere. Always happy, and every time that he smiles, it’s like the whole world just smiles with him. Cliche? Yes. True? Yes. So, anyways, I am very excited to paint this little guy. It’ll be a fun challange.
